RI President Barry Rassin’s theme for 2018-19, Be the Inspiration, asks Rotarians to inspire change in the world and in each other. “I ask all of you to Be the Inspiration to help Rotary move from reaction to action — to take a hard look at the environmental issues that affect health and welfare around the world and do what we can to help.”
NRCL which comprises of 16 Rotary Clubs in Lalitpur along with Lalitpur Metropolitan City ( LMC) and Solid Waste Management Technical Support Center ( SWTSC) organized Waste Free Lalitpur Campaign on 28 Aug 2018 during Matya ( Festival of Lights) to create awareness on Solid Waste Management, Recycling, Environmental issues, Health Awareness with Slogan ” Don’t Mix, Don’t Throw Away, Don’t Burn, Send Back”.
During the Program volunteers from Rotary Clubs, Rotaract Clubs, LMC, SWTSC, Local People placed “Green” and “Red” Bins at 26 spots in Ward no 12 & 16 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City , placed Banners, Placards, Miking and Leaflets were distributed.
It was believed that WFL campaign will bring behavior change among ten thousands of people ( Devotees and Spectators) regarding Solid Waste.
Rtn Roshan Maharjan, Rtn Arvindra Maharjan from Rotary E-Club of District 3292, Nepal and Rtr Saniya Giri & Rtr Sanju Dangol from Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Metropolis represented in this Campaign.
